WHO ARE THESE WORKSHOPS FOR?
Our workshops provide photography instruction for photographers at any level who wish to improve their skills. We’ve specifically designed these workshops for photography enthusiasts who enjoy the outdoors but also want to learn to become better photographers.
YOU OFFER PHOTO WORKSHOPS OR PHOTO TOURS?
Workshop, workshop, workshop! Our focus is to teach and for you to learn. Unlike tours that merely transport you to a destination and leave you to explore independently, our workshops offer personalized guidance. We engage in one-on-one interaction with every participant, addressing their questions throughout the session. Participants don’t just leave with improved photographs, they gain a deeper comprehension of photography, enhanced composition skills, and most importantly, a toolkit they can utilize on future endeavors.
WHAT WILL I LEARN ON AN OUTDOOR PHOTO JOURNEY WORKSHOP?
Our goal is that at the end of each workshop, every participant has the skill set to go out and make better photographs. While gear is important, our focus will be on the art of photography and how to tell a story with your images. For the beginner, we’ll get you off the automatic setting and take creative control of your camera. We’ll explore how to create engaging and powerful compositions, rules of photography and how to break them, use of filters etc. For intermediate and advanced level photographers, the process is not much different, just at a higher level and with greater care.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP?
Photography! The key ingredient is that you get one-on-one, hands-on personalized attention. It’s the best way to learn photography.
WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP?
Every workshop varies slightly, but generally here is what’s not included.

• accommodations
• transportation to/from location
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO BRING?
For all workshops, once you register, we will send out a comprehensive list of outdoor and photography gear needed for your workshop.
DO YOU RENT CAMERA EQUIPMENT?
If you want to rent camera equipment Vistek has locations across Ontario and Canada.
HOW ABOUT MEALS?
Meals are generally NOT included in the cost of the workshop but each photo workshop is structured slightly differently, please see each workshop for details.
WHAT ABOUT ACCOMMODATIONS
Hotels are generally not included in the cost of the workshop but again, each workshop is structured differently so please read the workshop description.
WHAT’S YOUR RAINY DAY POLICY?
We meet rain or shine, and assess the conditions before setting out. We will still go out in inclement weather, unless conditions are unsafe. Many fantastic landscape and seascape photos are taken during bad weather because of the added drama and interesting light a storm can bring.
WHAT IS THE PAYMENT SCHEDULE?
A deposit is required to register for all workshops.
For our 2,3 or 4 day workshops the balance is due 60 days before the start of the workshop. For our multi-week international workshops the balance is due 120 days before the start of the workshop.
CAN I BRING MY SPOUSE, FRIEND OR PARTNER WITH ME?
Absolutely. Non-photographers (spouses and friends) are welcome to join the group but are required to pay the full cost of the workshop.
